Privacy Policy

Last updated 27 October 2026

This policy explains what happens to a document you convert on PDFtoJPG.ca and what information the site itself collects. In short: your files are processed inside your browser and are never uploaded.

Your documents stay on your device

When you add a PDF, the file is read directly from your device by your browser. The pages are drawn on a canvas inside the page with a copy of the Mozilla PDF.js rendering engine that is downloaded as part of the site. Converted images are created in the same tab and held as temporary browser objects.

  • No PDF, image, page render, file name, document text or document metadata is uploaded to us or to any third party.
  • No document is stored in a database or file storage by this site.
  • No external document conversion API is used — there is no conversion service behind this page.
  • Files are not placed in the site URL, in analytics events, or in any local storage.
  • If you add a password to a protected PDF, it is used in memory only. It is never stored, logged, sent anywhere, or included in a URL.
  • Temporary browser objects are released when you start over, remove a document, or close the tab.

What the site does collect

Like any website, the service that hosts this page processes the technical information your browser sends in order to deliver it: an IP address, browser type, and the page requested. This is used to serve the page and to protect the service from abuse, and it is not connected to the contents of any document you convert.

The converter does not create an account, does not ask for your email address, and does not use cookies of its own.

One third-party request is made while the page loads: the typeface used by this site is fetched from Google Fonts so that text renders consistently on every device. That request tells Google your IP address and browser details as part of delivering the font file. It never contains a PDF, a converted page, a file name, a page selection or a password.

Analytics

This site records anonymous, aggregated product events — for example how many conversions were started and completed, the approximate number and size of the files involved, the output format chosen, and which tool pages are visited. No file name, document content, page image, page selection or password is ever part of an event.

Those events are sent to the service that hosts and serves this site. No third-party analytics service and no advertising network is loaded on the site today, and this site sets no cookie of its own. This policy will be revised before anything else is enabled.

Advertising

PDFtoJPG.ca is a free, advertising-supported tool. If advertising is enabled, ads are served by a third-party advertising network, which may use cookies or similar technologies to limit how often you see an ad and to measure performance. Ad networks may process data under their own privacy policies.

Advertising is never required to use the converter: every feature works with advertising blocked. At the time of this update, no advertising is enabled on the site.

Consent, cookies and your choices

Where consent is required — for example under the privacy laws of Quebec and Canada, or the GDPR in Europe — the site asks before any non-essential cookie or identifier is set. You can withdraw consent at any time, block cookies in your browser settings, or use your browser's tracking protection.

See the Cookie Policy for the specific categories that may be used.

Children, security and changes

The service is a general-audience utility and is not directed at children. Because documents never leave your device, the main privacy risk normally associated with online converters — a file sitting on someone else's server — does not apply here.

If this policy changes, the updated version will be published on this page with a new date.

Questions about this policy, or about how the site handles data, can be sent to the address on the Contact page.
