"This doesn't appear to be a valid PDF."

The file does not contain a PDF signature, so it is either a different format with a .pdf name, or its download was cut short. Open it in a PDF reader to confirm it works, then try again — renaming a file to .pdf does not convert it.

"This PDF is password-protected."

The document is encrypted. Type the opening password in the field that appears and press Unlock PDF. Your password is checked in your own browser, is never stored, logged or transmitted, and is discarded as soon as the conversion finishes.

"Incorrect password. Please try again."

PDF passwords are case-sensitive and some documents have both a user password and an owner password. Check that caps lock is off, then try the owner password if the document has one. The tool never attempts to crack or bypass a password.

"This PDF is too large to process at the selected quality."

A very large page, or a very high DPI, can exceed the canvas a browser is allowed to create. Reduce the resolution to 150 DPI, or convert the document in smaller page ranges. The converter always tells you when it had to reduce a resolution instead of failing silently.

"We couldn't convert this page."

That page uses features the renderer could not draw, or ran out of memory. Try a lower DPI for that page, then convert the remaining pages separately. If the page is a scan or an embedded image, exporting it at 150 DPI usually works.

"Select at least one page to convert."

Every page is deselected. Press All pages, or type a range such as 1, 3, 5-8 and press Apply range. The counter above the preview grid always shows how many pages are selected.

"Your images were converted, but the ZIP couldn't be created."

The archive could not be assembled, usually because the device ran low on memory. Every image is still available: use the Download JPG button under each page instead. Convert in smaller batches next time to keep memory comfortable.

The download does not start.

Some browsers block multiple automatic downloads. Open your browser's downloads list, or press the download button again for a single file. On iOS, downloads appear behind the arrow next to the address bar.

The previews are still loading.

Previews are drawn one page at a time so that long documents stay responsive. You do not have to wait: selection and conversion work from the page counter and the range box while previews fill in.

The conversion is slow on my device.

Rendering happens on your device, so speed depends on your processor and memory. Choosing 150 DPI instead of 300 DPI roughly quarters the pixels to draw and encode, and makes the biggest difference on phones.

Use 150 DPI for screen work and 300 DPI only when you need print quality.
Convert large documents in page ranges — 20 pages at a time keeps memory use predictable.
Keep the tab in the foreground during a long conversion, especially on a phone.
Download the ZIP once at the end rather than pressing it repeatedly.
