Convert PDF to JPG on Android

Before you start

• Use Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Samsung Internet. All four support the file APIs the converter needs.
• Keep the tab open and the screen on while the job runs — Android slows background tabs to save power.
• Very large PDFs on an older phone: choose Standard (150 DPI) and convert in page ranges.

Convert the PDF in Chrome

1. 1Tap Choose PDF Files. The Android file picker opens, where you can choose from Downloads, Drive or another app.
2. 2When the previews appear, tap pages to include or exclude them, or type a range such as 1-4, 8.
3. 3Pick the image quality, then tap Convert to JPG.
4. 4Watch the progress line, which names each page as it is rendered.

Where the images go

• A single JPG lands in your Downloads folder, shown in the notification shade and reachable in the Files app.
• Several pages at once come as a ZIP. In Files, tap the archive and extract it — most Android builds unzip without an extra app.
• The converted images appear in Google Photos only if the Downloads folder is set to sync. To add them directly, open an image in Files and use Share › Google Photos.

Sharing the result

Once an image is in Downloads, the Files app can share it straight into Gmail, WhatsApp, Drive or any other installed app. When you convert a whole document, extracting the ZIP first lets you share every page in one go.

If a conversion stops part way

• A phone that runs low on memory may close the tab. Reopen the page, add the PDF again and convert a smaller page range.
• Tap Cancel any time — pages finished before you stopped stay available for download.
• If a page will not convert at 300 DPI, switch to 150 DPI. Large page sizes plus high resolution is what pushes mobile browsers past their canvas limit.
